Details at https://ihc.wildapricot.org/event-5561476
"The Rustic Off-Road Rally" is part of the annual Capel River Classic event, which is conducted by the Ironstone Adventure Riding Club and includes a Classic & Historic Motorcycle Show & Shine, a Motorcycle Swap Meet, a Classic Car Display, a bar and food, etc. and here’s a video of the 2023 Capel River Classic event
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEBwwznCtvw
"The Rustic Off-Road Rally" is for pre 1980 road and off-road motorcycles that are either registered under one of the following:
· Code 404
· C4C
· Full A Class road registration
or
· If your bike isn’t registered, you can still ride the event by applying for an Unlicensed Vehicle Permit when you enter the event, which permits unregistered bikes to be used in a Rally and will be organised by IHC on behalf of the entrant at a cost of. $40.00. See link below for Permit details:
Unlicensed vehicle permits transport.wa.gov.au
The Course - The Rustic Off-Road Rally starts and finishes at 1688 Goodwood Road, Capel River and the course includes a combination of three different optional routes through the Capel-Jarrahwood state forest. The routes are all fully signed and all you have to do is follow the arrows through the forest at your own pace and you can ride them in any order and as many times as you want:
1. Long course of approximately 30km
2. Short course of approximately 10km
3. Short course with ‘The Hill’ of approximately 10km
All of the routes are run entirely on gazetted, maintained unsealed roads. The 2023 Rally attracted a mix of road and off-road bikes as old as 1926 and as young as 1974 and is definitely suitable for older/historic bikes, even with road tyres, with no sand tracks or "bush bashing" involved, and you definitely don’t need to be a ‘gun’ off-road rider!
The course map/route sheet will be made available on the day & the Rally starts at 10.00am sharp on Saturday 18th October 2025 at 1688 Goodwood Road Capel River.
Recovery Vehicles - Recovery vehicles & trailers will be available in case of breakdowns.
Camping: Free overnight camping is available at the venue.
Food & Bar – A licensed bar and food vendors will be at the event, PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE NO EFTPOS FACILITIES SO BRING CASH $ ON THE DAY
Entry Fee - Entry to the event is free (unless you require an Unlicensed Vehicle Permit, as mentioned above, which will cost $40), and
Pre-entry is preferred, and the entry form is available via this link or the Events Page on the IHC website
Rustic Off-Road Rally Entry Form v1 08Aug24.docx
PLEASE NOTE THAT ENTRYS FOR UNREGISTERED BIKES CLOSES FRIDAY 20th SEPTEMBER 24 AND THERE IS NO ENTRY ON THE DAY FOR UNREGISTERED BIKES.
So, registered or unregistered, get that bike that’s been hiding in the corner of the shed and give it a run through the forest!
And give me a call if you need any more info.
Cheers
