The Historic Competition Motorcycle Club is holding the Historic State Road Race Championships at Collie Motorplex from 26-28 September 2020. On behalf of the Club, I would like to invite your club to join us at the Championships by putting on a display of bikes on Sunday 26 September. We have arranged for your members to take part in some parade laps of the track during the lunchtime break if they wish, at no cost to your club. We are looking for pre-1973 bikes as we would like to encourage these older models to come along. Since the track extensions were completed last year the track length has almost doubled and is now longer than Barbagallo, so we can promise your members an enjoyable experience. We would like the display to commence at about 10.00am so it would be appreciated if your members could arrive in time for this. A display area will be set aside with a good view of the track and close to the amenities, which include a canteen. We would like those with bikes on display to stay until at least 2pm but they will be welcome to stay longer if they wish. For those wishing to take part in the parade laps:- • There is a sign-on form to be completed and wristbands will be provided. • There will be a travelling marshal at the front and rear of the group and riders must stay between the marshals. • Appropriate riding gear must be worn: a good quality jacket, boots, gloves and helmet (long trousers, of course), but there is no need for racing leathers. • Bikes must be in good order with no oil leaks etc. • There will be a short riders’ briefing before going on track. • No reckless riding - parade laps are not a race but a “spirited demonstration” (fast enough to be fun). For those who have not been to the Motorplex before, it is situated about 15kms south-east of Collie at 643 Powerhouse Road and is well signposted. I must apologise for the short notice - this year has been more than a little “different” - but I would appreciate a response so that the appropriate arrangements can be made. We are wanted to help run an event for motorcycles on the 27th to make it happen.
In return people can do a few laps on the Collie track during the lunch break preferred Pre 1973 motorcycles many hands make light work. So if you have a nothing to do go to Collie and make yourself useful. A good day out.
