This is a IHC organised Club Event, so all IHC Members & Members of "Other Historic Clubs" are welcome, riding pre 1975 machines.
"The Rustic Off-Road Rally" will be part of the annual Capel River Classic event, which is conducted by the Ironstone Adventure Riding Club and also includes the Capel River Classic Motorcycle Show & Shine, a Classic Bikes For Sale area and the Shire of Capel’s Capel River Country Festival with a bar, band, etc.
"The Rustic Off-Road Rally" is a new addition to the umbrella Capel River Classic event for 2023 and is for pre 1975 motorcycles that are registered under either of the following:

Code 404;
-
C4C;
-
Full A Class registration; or
-
if your bike isn’t registered, you can still ride the event by applying for an Unlicensed Vehicle Permit when you enter the event, which permits unregistered bikes to be used in a Rally and will be organised by IHC on behalf of the entrant at a cost of. $35.00. See link below:

The event starts and finishes at 1688 Goodwood Road, Capel River and the course includes a combination of three different optional routes through the Capel-Jarrahwood state forest. The routes are all fully signed and all you have to do is follow the arrows through the forest at your own pace and you can ride them in any order and as many times as you want:

Long course of approximately 30km

Short course of approximately 10km

Short course with ‘The Hill’ of approximately 10km
All of the routes are run entirely on gazetted, maintained unsealed roads. The course has been test ridden by a ’32 JAP, a ’38 BSA and a ’51 BMW with road tyres and is definitely suitable for older/historic bikes, with no sand tracks or "bush bashing" involved, and you definitely don’t need to be a ‘gun’ off-road rider!
The course map/route sheet will be made available on the day & the Rally starts at 10.00am sharp on Saturday 14 October 2023 at 1688 Goodwood Road Capel River.
Free overnight camping is available at the venue.
Entry to the event is free (unless you require an Unlicensed Vehicle Permit, as mentioned above, which will cost $35), and recovery vehicles will be available in case of breakdowns.
Pre-entry is preferred and the entry form is available at:
“PLEASE NOTE THAT ENTRIES FOR UNREGISTERED BIKES CLOSE FRIDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER 2023 AND THERE IS NO ENTRY ON THE DAY FOR UNREGISTERED BIKES.”
So, registered or unregistered, get that bike that’s been hiding in the corner of the shed and give it a run through the forest!
